Mawarra Functions offers a large playground for children of all ages and a small cottage for mothers with babies. Our reception hall adjoins a large outdoor deck area where guests can enjoy a drink together.
Mawarra Functions is a beautifully restored reception venue located in Melbourne's north. This historic bluestone building was built in 1877 and is now used for weddings, christenings and other milestone celebrations. Mawarra Functions is best known for its high quality food, friendly wait staff and spacious outdoor area overlooking the Wollert countryside. We are currently taking bookings from January to June 2021.

Our reception venue caters for up to 100 guests seated or 130 guests cocktail style. For large groups of more than 70 guests we use the alfresco area outside for dancing.

Mawarra is a family friendly venue with large outdoor areas for the children to play. The fresh, white interior of our bluestone hall fits with any colour scheme, which is why our venue is a popular option for christenings. We recommend booking your christening about 6 months in advance to secure your event at one of Melbourne's best christening venues. Our most popular menus for christenings include our Gyros Spit Roast and Gourmet Barbeque menus.

One of the most popular aspects of our venue is the large alfresco deck area at the back of the hall and in good weather you will find most of your guests sitting outside at wine barrels and cafe tables. At Mawarra we understand the importance of having lots of high quality, tasty food for your guests to enjoy. Our signature menu consists of a grazing table with charcoal grilled meats, warm sides and salads. We also offer a substantial cocktail menu for stand up weddings and a three-course menu for smaller weddings. The reception hall dates back to 1877 and has been beautifully restored to seat between 55 and 100 guests, or 130 guests at a cocktail style event. Mawarra is not a large venue, so if you are looking for a dance floor then we recommend using the alfresco area at the back of the hall. We currently offer three different menus for christenings including our Gyros Spit Roast and Gourmet Barbeque menus with charcoal grilled meats, warm sides and fresh salads. We always make sure that there is plenty of food for everyone to enjoy. Our christening package prices range between $65 and $85 per head (excluding alcohol) with a minimum spend of $6,000. When you book an event at Mawarra you will have exclusive use of the venue for up to 5 hours and your own team of dedicated wait staff.
