One of the most popular aspects of our venue is the large alfresco deck area at the back of the hall and in good weather you will find most of your guests sitting outside at wine barrels and cafe tables. At Mawarra we understand the importance of having lots of high quality, tasty food for your guests to enjoy. Our signature menu consists of a grazing table with charcoal grilled meats, warm sides and salads. We also offer a substantial cocktail menu for stand up weddings and a three-course menu for smaller weddings. Mawarra Functions is one of Melbourne's leading christening's venues with delicious food and facilities for children and parents. The reception hall dates back to 1877 and has been beautifully restored to seat between 55 and 100 guests, or 130 guests at a cocktail style event. Mawarra is not a large venue, so if you are looking for a dance floor then we recommend using the alfresco area at the back of the hall. We currently offer three different menus for christenings including our Gyros Spit Roast and Gourmet Barbeque menus with charcoal grilled meats, warm sides and fresh salads. We always make sure that there is plenty of food for everyone to enjoy. Our christening package prices range between $65 and $85 per head (excluding alcohol) with a minimum spend of $6,000. Our beautifully restored bluestone reception hall seats up to 100 guests and we can cater for a maximum of 130 guests at a cocktail style event. The most popular menus for celebrations such as engagement parties and birthdays include our Gourmet Barbeque Menu and Cocktail Menu. When you book an event at Mawarra you will have exclusive use of the venue for up to 5 hours and your own team of dedicated wait staff. Please note that we have a limited number of dates available in 2020 and generally recommend securing your date at least 6 months in advance.
